This course provides a comprehensive overview of the essential requirements for creating accessible employee work areas and office spaces. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the definitions, regulations, and best practices necessary to ensure accessibility in various workplace environments.

Learning Objectives: 
  1. Define what constitutes an employee work area, distinguishing between areas that are and are not classified as such, including understanding the access requirements for approach, entry, and exit, as well as identifying any exceptions.
  2. Differentiate between fixed and movable elements within employee work areas and comprehend their respective roles and requirements in creating an accessible workspace.
  3. Identify and ensure compliance with accessible route requirements within office spaces, including understanding the importance of accessible common use circulation paths, managing protruding objects, and recognizing the elements on an accessible route that must be accessible.
  4. Address accessibility needs within common spaces such as breakrooms and restrooms, as well as special rooms and spaces including dressing rooms, kitchens, and assembly areas, ensuring these areas meet accessibility standards and requirements.
