About the Provider
Berdoll Sawmill is a family owned and operated sawmill near Austin, Texas. We take pride in producing the highest quality, kiln dried natural and live edge slabs and furniture grade lumber available. We harvest and mill native Texas hardwood logs from sustainable sources.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the origins, importance, and reward of utilizing sustainable resources. Committing to environmentally conscious hardwoods increases the welfare of future generations.
- Identify properly milled and dried hardwoods. Safety risks are minimized when properly dried wood is selected for projects.
- Recognize best practices, treatments, and finishes to maximize longevity of hardwood furnishings. Durable and harmless treatments are important to the health of the clients.
- Ask knowledgeable questions and recognize hardwoods that incorporate sustainability into design.
